About ArtsAlive
Arts Alive was inspired by Kathleen Gaynor Ferris's love of the arts and her commitment to making a difference in the lives of people in our community. While battling leukemia Kathy became a patient of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was able to concentrate on being comfortable and living for the day. Arts Alive is meant to celebrate life through art and fitness.
In the past 5 years, generous support of sponsors, artists and participants in Arts Alive Weekend has allowed Kathleen's son and friends to raise over $100,000. Proceeds from the annual event have provided quality care for patients and their families at Aspirus Hospice House in the form of the respite garden completion, outdoor furniture for the patio and gazebo, electronic lift beds for each room and our goal is to also purchase lift chairs for each room as well. We help fund the Compassionate Friends Support Group and established the Kathleen Gaynor Ferris Endowment to ensure continued support in these projects.
Future proceeds will be used to help fund a music therapy program at Hospice House and provide access to hospice and palliative care for unfunded patients.
